Note: The instructions below are for the old Adobe Flash game.
To begin, click the Start Game button when the game finishes loading.
HOW TO PLAY. Candy Bubble follows the rules of most bubble popping games. Your character sits at the bottom of the screen, bubble launcher in hand.
Rows of colored bubbles appear above you. Your goal is to clear all the bubbles from the screen before the bubbles drop down on top of you. In this game the bubbles look like pieces of candy, but the principle is the same.
This bubble popper game has multiple levels. Each time you clear the screen, you're promoted to the next level.
To remove bubbles, shoot a colored bubble upward, aiming so that you form 3-of-a-kinds or better. For example, if you're holding a yellow bubble, aim toward a grouping of yellow bubbles at the top of the screen.
Aim using your mouse cursor, and shoot the bubble by left-clicking your mouse.
When your bubble hits another bubble or group of bubble, it sticks them. If you've matched colors 3-of-a-kind or better, all the attached bubbles of the same color pop and disappear.
HAPPY DANCE. A fun feature of Candy Bubble is the happy dance. Each time you form a 3-of-a-kind or better, hold down the Spacebar. This causes your character to vacuum up all the points from the popped bubbles at the top of the screen.
If you don't hold the Spacebar, the points just drop straight down. Some points will miss your character, and you won't collect them.
Pay attention to the Remain timer on the right. It's a dial-shaped timer. When this timer runs out, a fresh row of bubbles appears at the top of the screen.
Just under the Remain timer, the "Next" display shows the color of the next bubble you'll have available in your bubble shooter. Use this to get prepared for your next shot. Knowing the next color coming up saves precious time.
The further you advance in this game, the more difficult the levels become. For example, on Level 1, there are only yellow, red, and orange bubbles.
Higher levels have more colors, such as blue and green bubbles, making the job of clearing the screen even more challenging.
Note: There's no control in this game for turning off the music or bubble sound effects. However, see this article for a trick to mute the game while leaving your computer speakers on.
To pause the game and stop the timer without losing your place, click the Pause button on the right side of the screen.
I'd already added several bubble popping games to this site, but when I found this one I really liked it. So yet one more.
