Gem Drop Game, Play Free

Candy Pop is a gem drop game with a twist. Not only are jewels falling from the top of the screen, they are invading from the right side too!

Gem Drop Game - Instructions

Note: The instructions below are for the old Adobe Flash game.

Match gems to remove them from the board. But don't let the marching jewels reach the left edge, or it's game over.

To begin, click the Start Game button when the game finishes loading.

The object of this gem game is to get as high a score as possible and progress through as many levels as you can. The game ends when the jewels reach the left edge of the game board.

Remove gems by forming three-of-a-kind matches. This is very similar to how Bejeweled and other jewel games like Galactic Gems work.

Basically, you want to look for two of a kind (based on color) that are next to each other. Then, see if there is a third of the same color that can be moved into alignment with the other two.

To move a gem, click the destination you want the gem to move to. A gem can only be moved one space.

Going Up Levels

Along the left side of the game is a meter that shows how close you are to reaching the next level. Every time you form a three-of-a-kind jewel match or other combo, the meter is pushed higher.

A Level Complete screen appears each time you level up. This screen shows your score.

Your current level displays in the lower left of the screen. The number of points you need to complete the level shows just above your level.

One of the rules of this gem drop game is that there are a limited number of moves you can make. If you run out of moves before filling up the gem meter, a new wall of jewels appears on the right side of the screen. This pushes the columns of jewels to the left.

So make sure you fill up the gem meter as quickly as you can. As I mentioned, once the column of gems reaches the left side, the Gem Invasion is over and lost!

SPECIAL GEMS. Keep an eye out in this gem drop game for special gems like +1s which, when used, give you an extra turn. There are also lightning bolts and other special gems I'll let you discover on your own.

The gem game also gives you automatic hints if you don't make a move within a few seconds. While the hints do show possible three-of-a-kind matches, I encourage you to use your own strategy. From what I've seen, the hints often don't show the best possible move.

My high score so far is 24,995 on Level 10. I could have kept going, too. See if you can beat that!

You can mute the background music or the gem sounds in this game by clicking the control buttons in the upper right of the game.
