Tetris Rules. Here are the basics of how to play:
Tetris is a puzzle game that is played on a grid called the Matrix. Tetrimino shapes drop one-by-one from the top of the Matrix to the bottom.
The goal is to continually stack tetrominoes and clear lines as long as you can. To do that, you need to fill an entire line horizontally with blocks, causing those lines to disappear and giving you more space to stack.
The first strategy to learn is how to score a "Tetris", which happens when you clear four lines at once. To do that, you need a completely filled in 9x4 area of space with one column empty.
Then, you will need to place the I-shaped piece — the only piece that is four blocks high — into that empty space.
Old Instructions. The instructions below are for the old Adobe Flash version of the game.
HOW TO PLAY. Regardless of which mode you choose (single, dual, or multiplayer), Droptris follows the normal rules of Tetris.
The object of the game is to clear away the falling shapes before they completely fill up the screen. Clear blocks by completing rows with no gaps.
The Arrow keys work as follows: UP Arrow: Rotate Block; LEFT/RIGHT Arrow: Moves block to the left or right; DOWN Arrow: Drops the block to the bottom quickly.
The WASD keys work similarly in Dual Mode and Multiplayer Mode.
MODES. You can play Droptris by yourself with either one or two screens, or compete in multiplayer mode against a friend.
Single Player. You versus one screen of Tetris.
Dual Screen. You versus two screens of Tetris at once (see below).
Multiplayer. Play against a friend on the same keyboard (see below).
Each mode includes several options for game play:
