HOW TO PLAY. After the game loads, click the PLAY GAME button in the lower right. Then click the PLAY button on the Mahjong Connect III main screen.

Next, click the New Game button, or if you've got a saved game, click that. The backstory slide show appears next, explaining the background story for the game. Click the SKIP button to bypass this.

This mahjong game has more of an adventure aspect than typical mahjong tile games. There's a purpose to clearing each screen beyond merely earning points.

I'll reproduce the backstory here, and you'll see what I mean:

There was a beautiful and peaceful country in the Far East. The people of this country were living blissfully under the protection of the four ancient gods.

Unfortunately, the evil spirit Fiend destroyed the four ancient gods' divine seal, returning to the world on a vicious rampage and twisting humanity to his unholy will.

Using his evil seal, Fiend captured the four ancient gods with Mahjong tiles. Now the kingdom is calling for a hero who can defeat Fiend and destroy his seal, hence return freedom to the people...

You are that hero!

Next Steps

Click the "Click to Start" button on the territories screen for a quick Mahjong Connect 3 tutorial. The tutorial also shows you how to use important features of the game such as Shuffle and Hint.

After the tutorial, you'll start with the first tile set. Remove pairs of tiles by clicking matching tiles that aren't blocked.

Keep in mind, you need to remove all tiles from the board before the timer runs out.

WHAT IS A BLOCKED TILE? A mahjong tile is blocked if another tiles covers it, or if both the right and left side of the tile are blocked by another tile.

Chains lock up some mahjong tiles. You can't remove these tiles.

After you've cleared the screen for the current mahjong tile set, the Level Clear screen appears. This screen shows your current score, time bonus, combo points, and item bonus.

Between levels, you can activate and then upgrade the Power Totems of the four ancient gods. Each totem possesses a unique power. Through the totems, you can increase your score, eliminate tiles automatically, add time to the clock, and remove chains.
