Instructions to Play Free Tetris Game Online

Description from the Game Developer: Classic falling blocks tetris game where you need to complete a row by filling blocks in order to remove blocks.

HOW TO PLAY. This version of the game follows standard Tetris rules. To get started, click the Play button when the pop-up window opens.

This version of Tetris has 10 levels. You can actually start higher than Level 1 if you want.

To start at a higher more difficult level, simply click the right or left arrows next to the Start at Level section of the screen, then click the OK button.

Otherwise, just leave it at Level 1 and click the OK button. This opens the Tetris screen, and the blocks start falling!

Various shaped blocks fall from the top of the screen. Rotate the blocks so they completely fill the bottom row on the screen.

Each time you complete a row those blocks disappear and the entire stack moves down a row. This happens when you complete the bottom row and/or any row higher up.

Controlling the Tetris Blocks

You can only move the Tetris block that is currently falling. Once a block reaches the bottom, that's where it stays.

Rotate. To rotate the block, press the Up Arrow key on your keyboard.

Side to Side. To move the block sideways, press the Left or Right Arrow keys.

Straight Down. To make the block fall faster, press the Down Arrow key.

To help plan ahead, pay attention to the "block preview" section in the upper right of the game. This area shows the next block that will appear after the currently falling block reaches bottom.

The game is over when the block stack reaches the top of the screen. The right side of the game window shows the highest level you reached, the number of Tetris lines you completed, and your score.

Sometimes as you play this free tetris game online, making the blocks fit together is easy. The blocks seem to logically fit together. But watch out!

Just when you think you've beat the level, you'll suddenly get a series of blocks that just don't appear to go together. Try to stay extra focused when this happens.

Note: The Tetris game itself works fine, but the High Scores feature is not functional. So when the game is over and it asks for your name, you can ignore that.

To play free Tetris game online again, click OK at that point and then the Play button. Or simply close the game pop-up window to be done.
